Party Review: Solstice

Name Of Party: Solstice
Date: December 12, 2010
Venue: Royal Jamaica Yacht Club, Palisadoes Park

Solstice had been a highly anticipated party for me due to the summer edition which I attended being a success. For a second I
thought there was going to be a postponement due to the dark clouds which were in sight earlier in the day. Even with the dark
clouds and the high prospects of rain, the thought of missing Solstice was far from my mind….. So on to Solstice I went!

I arrived at the venue at around 8:00 to a very sparse crowd, but still it had a little vibe. I remember exactly that Rockwildaz was
playing, because Dj gave me a shout-out lol, but anyways, they were playing some dancehall music trying to get the people in the
mood, and it was working. Slowly, crowd kept growing and with the crowd came a light drizzle but that didn’t stop the partying
as people kept dancing. Throughout this time I’d say the vibes was good, everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves.

Suddenly, the rain started pouring and people made their way under the shelters, for a while I thought I would have had
to scratch my blog review because the rain was going to spoil the party which would have warranted an unfair review…
BUTTTTTTT… I must say, the rain didn’t damper anyone’s mood, everyone under the shelters continued partying and
drinking. The Dj’s did a good job at keeping the level up throughout the downpour. There were periods when the rain stopped
and at those times, I made my way to the dance floor =D. Zj Liquid got the ladies in the mood with a slew of Kartels, Aidonias
and Mavados which got them wild. It started raining again but it was now DAGGERING time, so it had to wait! Oh!

The party ended at 11:45 as people were making their way out, but the music kept on playing, some patrons, like myself, decided to
stay a while and continue enjoying the music. Rockwildaz were back, I must make mention of them playing Kartels new hit
(8) Benz Punaani (8) lol …the first I heard it at a party lol.

All in All, I’d give Solstice a 7.5/10 rating. In an earlier blog posts I spoke about Dj’s repeating songs at parties, I’m sad to
say that this happened at Solstice. Overall, despite the rain I’d say Solstice ‘”Did Gwan Good”! Would have been better without
the rain, But *Thumbs Up* to the Solstice team for making the best out of a bad situation, that’s exactly what they did.
I left, glad that I came, I had fun... went home feeling tired from all the dancing n daggering lol… P.S I Was NOT drunk! lol

Random
The Décor deserves a mention, it was good… Props to the solstice team!

LOL @ the man who, in the rain tried to steal a bottle of vodka from the unattended bar, but someone followed him and took it
back ... LOL … can you say EMBARRASSING!

I think a girl jumped in the pool….I guess the vibes “talked” to her lol

There was no Fluffy vs Slimas battle   -______-

LOL @ the girl who fell @ Summer solstice…. I was anticipating a sort of Déjà vu
