“Beg yuh a ticket nuh?” <---That’s a statement you’ll never hear me uttering as it’s something I frown upon. Growing up, I was taught not to beg and to this day that’s something I try to live by. For me to beg, I must be in a VERY desperate position, and to be THAT desperate to go to a party is something I’ll never be.
There are some people who make it a habit to BEG promoters for tickets to attend their parties and that’s something that makes me shake my head. What makes it even worse is if the promoter is not in a position to hand out free tickets, the person makes a big fuss and slander the party.
People need to understand that party promoters are people who have invested their money in putting on an event with the aim of seeing financial returns. In addition to putting on these parties with this aim in sight, what’s the sense of them giving to everyone who wants a free ticket? How then would they make money?
(If you and the promoters are that close, it’s not so bad, but if not, “Beg yuh a ticket” is a statement that should be taboo to you)
This leads me to my next topic, those persons who refuse to go to a party if they’re not getting in free. Seriously, who do you think you are? Are you any different from anyone who has to pay? My blood boils hearing someone say “mi naa go if me naa get in free” is it that you’re broke and can’t pay to go in? (Hush! Stay home… another time) or is it that you don’t have respect for that party? (Why do you want to go in the first place?) Is it that you think you’re too ‘NICE’ to actually pay? (That means you still have some growing up to do as you have the traits of a spoilt brat!)
As a party-goer, one thing I ensure is that I always have money to PAY to enter. People say I’m hype in certain things I do, if I actually am, with that, I have pride and will not be begging for a ticket. I don’t think I’m inferior to anyone so there’s no time where I’ll think that I shouldn’t be paying.
Shout out to people who have not tarnished their reputation by being labeled a “Ticket Beggerer” especially via Twitter or Facebook. Shout-out to the persons who see someone being productive, and actually supports their cause. Then there are some persons who spend their money to buy the hottest party wear, then can’t afford to buy the ticket!
(In life, we need to evaluate our priorities and not try to live above our means then put ourselves in uncompromising positions at the end of the day.)
When you see someone trying to succeed, help them, and support them!
A Random Note:
LADIES! Please ensure you have money in your purse to buy yourself a drink when your throat begs for a little moisture and please ensure you have taxi-fare to go home, just in case Mr. Right doesn’t come by. MEN! Please make sure you also have a little money, to not just buy one beer and sip the whole night, you should also have a little pocket-change to oblige a lady with a drink or two and you as well should always have your taxi-fare to go home, not wander around till daylight, window shopping in HWT and looking endlessly at the nice Christmas lights until Bus start run! DWL LMAO !!!
